False Prophets Characteristics
· Walk after the flesh
· Lustful
· Unclean
· Selfwilled
· Not afraid to speak evil
· Pleasure in rioting
· Eyes full of adultery
· Love to sin
· Beguiling unstable souls
· Covetous
· Unrighteous
· Don’t follow God
· Speak vanity
By knowing the characteristics of false prophets we can learn to recognize them and know not to follow them. False prophets and teachers may tell you that their church is true and they may seem like they are really good people, but there is only one true church on the earth. These people tend to be lustful, selfwilled, or selfish they count on members of their church to pay them so they can make money. Note- in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints bishops and other positions in the church are not paid. They do the work for the service of their God, they have normal jobs and have other ways of providing for their family. False prophets don’t follow God they follow the world, they tell you what you want to hear so that you will believe them. These people are not afraid to speak evil, they believe what they are saying is true because they don’t know the truth. 2 Peter 20-22, Once someone has found Christ and they know the truth, it is not good to go back to the world. It is worse if someone knows the truth, turns away from it, then if they had never known the truth.
